One of these days....

Have you ever said “one of these days, we’ll have to do that”?  Well, that’s kind of what happened with the Lundcruiser Adventure.  We heard many people talking about Alaska as their best trip ever, and we said “one of these days…”  So, last summer when we had the opportunity to sign up for a 48 day Alaska motorhome caravan, we decided to do it!   It was a little daunting to think about being gone for that long, but as we started to plan, we got comfortable with it, and we are actually going to be gone for 3 ½ months!!!

As we began our planning, we realized the meeting point for the caravan is over 2,000 miles away, so we pulled out the calendar and worked backwards.  We had penciled in the IndyCar race in Milwaukee over the June 15^th weekend, so decided that would be our launch point for our journey.  We decided to take our time and planned the route to visit many areas of the country we have not seen before.   We have learned a lot about geography…the northwestern states, Canada and Alaska were never on our radar.  Our trip will take us through the Badlands, Yellowstone, Lake Louise and Banff, Calgary, the Yukon and cities in Alaska I’ve never heard of! 

We’ll be sharing our adventure through this blog, but blogging is very new to us, so please understand that we’ll be learning along the way.
