Whoa!

Day 19, Monday, July 1

We arrived at St. Mary, Montana, right at the entrance to Glacier National Park---it's just beautiful!  It was about a 6 1/2 hour drive from the North entrance of Yellowstone.  It's hot (high 80's) but is supposed to cool down to the 70's for the rest of the week.

Trip Mileage report to date:  RV = 2,237;  Truck = over 1,000 miles!  Whew, that's a lot of miles:

Whoa Nellie!!
It was another twisty winding road to get here, and we were greeted by a herd of horses running down the highway!  Whoa Nellie!!!
right outside the window!
Not sure if they were wild or just got loose, but there were a bunch of them.  The motorcycles coming the other way seemed to enjoy riding in and out of the horse crowd. It was a very unusual sight.

We are getting into very weak Internet signals, and our AT&T phones won't even work here, so this is probably the beginning of on-line challenges for the blog.
We picked up our first batch of mail (compliments of Jennifer mailing it here--thanks J!) and it was kind of fun to get mail for the first time in 19 days.

Scenery is very different from Yellowstone--there seem to be a lot more mountains. They seem taller and darker, with more snow.  We'll check them out a little closer tomorrow.
