A day of rest….

Day 32 – Sunday, July 14
Another Sunday, another church…this time it was Our Lady of the Foothills--very aptly named.  We are in Hinton, Alberta, which seems to be a logging town, as there is a huge lumber mill in the center of the city.  The railroad is big here too…lots of train tracks throughout the city, and a railroad museum from 1910.
This is a day for rest-up, clean-up, do 10 days of laundry, etc. because tomorrow we leave for a 5 1/2 hour  drive to Dawson Creek, BC which is where we’ll meet the rest of the caravan to begin our Alaska adventure.  The trip actually begins on Wednesday, but we plan to arrive a few days early to get our bearings, a haircut, and reload groceries.
Mileage report:  RV = 2,725 miles = 54.4 engine hours!  (Fuel prices here are atrocious!)
Truck = 1,650 miles (that's a lot of touring!)
Maintenance report: Replaced 1 headlight, 1 turnsignal, 1 running light, tighten belt, replaced vacuum cleaner bag, and removed a lot of bugs from the windshield!  Not too bad.
Mosquito report:  Not bad at all.  We were warned about big mosquitos, but thank goodness, we haven’t run into them…yet!
Internet report:  AWFUL!!!!  This is perhaps the biggest frustration of all.  I guess we are just getting prepped for what’s ahead in the remote parts of Alaska.  it’s almost embarrassing to realize how much we rely on being “connected” as part of our daily routine.
