Shopping fulfillment!

 Wednesday- Thursday, August 3-4, 2022

We made our way further west to Missoula, Montana.  It was a beautiful drive, watching the landscape change to rolling tree-covered hills.

I forgot to mention in the last post that we ran into a couple from Czecholovakia at Craters of the Moon.  He was fascinated with the hookups on our car, and asked if he could take a picture.  He said it is illegal to tow a car in their country, so was very interested in how it works!  Jim explained to him the air brake, and the hookup pins.  The couple is using her sister's car, and they have put over 3,000 miles on it, touring the US!  Sometimes we fail to realize how much there is to see and do in our own country.

We arrived at the Missoula KOA, and I got butterflies when I saw a Costco less than a mile from the campground.  Then I found there is a path from the campground that leads to the adjacent shopping center--what a find!  The shopping center has TJMaxx, Ulta, Ross, REI, etc.

And speaking of shopping....shortly after we left home, our coffee pot started leaking.  This is a big problem, because coffee is very important to us in the mornings.   We woke up to find water all over the counter, so knew we needed to find something else.  Luckily my shopping abilities came through.  Armed with Kohls cash, I was able to order a coffee pot on line and pick it up at the Missoula Kohls.  It was ready and waiting for us.  However, when we tried it, the new coffee pot was damaged, and when we filled it, water poured out.   We went back to the store and got a replacement--this time a different brand, so hoping for the best.  Jim gets grumpy without his coffee.

Another shopping opportunity arose when a food truck appeared in the campground.  It was the Alpenstuble mobile, featuring authentic German Style food.  How convenient!  We ended up getting Leberkase, their signature sandwich, which is a beef, pork and bacon meatloaf slice on a sourdough bun..it was yummy!

We were able to sit outside and eat, and enjoy a nice cool evening breeze!  It's off to Spokane tomorrow.
